Drain & Sewer
Why does the same drain keep clogging?
A drain that slows down again soon after clearing may have more than a surface blockage. Grease, soap buildup, roots or a damaged section of pipe can restrict flow. The right next step depends on whether the problem affects one fixture or several.
Look for the pattern
- One slow fixture: note which sink, shower or tub is affected and how often it happens.
- Several slow drains: gurgling toilets or water backing up elsewhere may point to a shared drain or sewer line.
- Repeated backups: tell your plumber what has already been tried, including any chemical drain cleaner.
When to call a professional
If wastewater backs up, stop using the affected fixtures and keep people and pets away from it. Do not mix drain cleaners. A sewer camera inspection can help identify an underlying obstruction or pipe problem; it is not necessary for every simple clog. All American offers drain cleaning, hydro-jetting and sewer repair to address the cause rather than guess at it.
